Mantay House is an organization which functions as a shelter and also a workshop which guides and trains young mothers, between 12 and 18 years old with tools so that they can earn a living. It’s a space where they can work near their children and a safe place where they find protection and respect.

Here you’ll be welcomed with a warm mate tea before your guide shows you around, she’ll explain the story of how they started and how they work.
You’ll then get a chance to go to the “Mantay Workshop”, where the women work in manufacturers for leather products.
In 2012, the workshop received an award for the quality of their products by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru. The mothers will show you how to recognize real leather and will tell you more about the production and process of their products.
You’ll also get to take home a souvenir they’ve made!
